About Chad

Chad Tyler is a Baltimore based sculptor who holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2004 where among other honors he was awarded an Edward L. Ryerson Fellowship. He has since translated his passion for unexpected or overlooked contexts for landscape architecture across a wide range of disciplines in an effort to understand the innate human affinity for the natural world. His explorations include dioramas for the Field Museum of Natural History, design of habitats for live animal collections and inspiring guest experiences at the Shedd Aquarium and the National Aquarium, public installations in the landscape, and installations for theater and new choreography. His preparatory works and sculpture have been exhibited at the G-Spot Gallery, Artscape 2012, and the Maryland Arts Place. Chad was the 2013 Guest Artist-in-Residence for the Department of Theater at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
